Hi, we are Stéphanie and Florian. We set off from Switzerland in June 2024 with a rough plan and no fixed endpoint. Two years later we’d made it all the way to South East Asia. For now we’re taking a breather, earning some money and dreaming of our next chapter: SOUTH AFRICA.

This website is our visual diary of life on the road, sharing our love for the great outdoors and the freedom of the open road.

It’s a journey where every sunset marks the end of one adventure and the beginning of another, where the dust we leave behind tells the story of our daring exploits and the memories we create along the way.

MAY 22, 2026 – Port Klang, Malaysia

Day 696 and our time in Asia comes to an end. From Switzerland to Southeast Asia, 60’000km, two years and countless memories. But we’re not done yet! Getting the Landy into the container was a mission: deflating the tires, stripping everything off the roof, fixing and securing the car so it wouldn’t move even a bit and a lot of tears (at least for Stéphanie). But we made it, Landy boy is ready for the big trip! First though, we head home for a couple of months. Work, rest, recharge and get ready for the next big chapter. Because this is NOT the end, AFRCIA is calling and we can’t wait. Stay tuned!

MAY 17, 2026 – Genting Highlands, Malaysia

Back in Malaysia, back on the road and one last ride into the green before our chapter Asia is coming to an end. We spent some days in the Jungle of the Genting Highlands close to Kuala Lumpur. One last campfire, coffee in nature and watching monkeys all day long. We spotted Dusky Leaf monkeys and Siamang Gibbons, too cute. For us there’s something about the jungle that has a way of simplifying everything, all that matters is where you are right now. And we soaked it up extra hard this time, cause we knew it was the last time for quite a while. Two years of sleeping in the Landy, waking up to views like this, calling the wild our home. These were our final nights camping in Asia, and yes, it was a little emotional. Time say goodbye soon!

MAY 1, 2026 – Lombok, Indonesia

While our Landy is staying at the mechanic for a while, we decided to fly to Lombok in Indonesia. Mainly to slow down, surf, get back into some kind of routine, and simply relax for a while. Kind of like a little holiday within our journey before the next chapter begins. And honestly, it also made the most sense financially. Even including flights, accommodation, scooter rental and food, Lombok turned out to be cheaper for us than staying in Malaysia.

APRIL 13, 2026 – Kuala Mu, Malaysia

We spent a view days in Kuala Mu, a remote place in the jungle of Kelantan in Malaysia. Truly off-grid kind of place where the indigenous people, called Orang Asli (meaning original people) live a traditional live, closely connected to the forest. We probably were the fist Swiss people they ever seen there. A beautiful experience to see how people still live hidden deep in the jungle. We were hoping to see some wildlife like elephants and bears, but no luck unfortunately. Anyways we loved it there.

MARCH 23, 2026 – Koh Yao Yai, Thailand

We caught another ferry, this time to Koh Yao Yai, between Phuket and Krabi, and spent a few days roaming the island, chasing every beach we could reach with the Landy, and of course sunsets. On the island it felt completely different from the others we’ve seen: slower, quieter, barely touched by tourism. More jungle than concrete, more nature than noise. So nice to see, that such places still exists in Thailand. And than we found this beautiful beach called Laem Had, with white sand and coconut palm trees. No cars were allowed to enter, but we asked the owner of the place if we could camp there and he was like, yeah sure.

MARCH 7, 2026 – Khao Sok National Park, Thailand

We teamed up with Eva & Matthias, who are traveling in their beautiful 1979 Land Rover Santana. Together we set off on a very early boat ride across Cheow Lan Lake in Khao Sok National Park. A thick layer of fog was still hanging over the water at first, but after a few minutes the sky slowly cleared and revealed the limestone karsts around us. We could even hear gibbons calling from the jungle. Hard to put into words how impressive this place really is. Definitely worth to get up that early ッ

FEBRUARY 24, 2026 – Ayutthaya, Thailand

We did a one day trip from Bangkok to Ayutthaya and it really felt like stepping back in time. Once part of the Siamese Kingdom, the city dates back to 1350 and was later destroyed during the Burmese invasion in 1767, leaving behind temples and Buddha statues now standing as ruins. But still very beautiful and amazing to see! Ayutthaya is still home to many Buddhist monasteries, and monks can often be seen walking through the ancient temple grounds. We also went for a super nice seafood lunch a little bit outside of the city, recommended from a local friend in Bangkokg, and wow, sooo good!

FEBRUARY 18, 2026 – Bangkok, Thailand

One last time Bangkok for us. Altogether we spent almost four weeks in this city and we truly LOVE it. We dove right into the buzz of Bangkok’s Chinatown for Chinese New Year, celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse. Of course we took our Defender for one last ride through downtown and even after doing it a few times, it still feels kinda cool cruising through this big city with our own car, with Swiss plates 🙂 Bangkok is full of contrasts and that’s what we love the most. But now it’s time to leave and head more south. Ready for some beach vibes!

FEBRUARY 10, 2026 – Koh Chang, Thailand

A few weeks on Koh Chang Island. First time we took a ferry transfer with our Landy from mainland to an island. On the island we met Scott and Minét from Australia, also traveling in a Defender. We spent a few days together chasing lonely beaches, off-roading through the jungle, campfires with wine, talks, and laughter. Real good times with real nice people – we enjoyed it so much!

JANUAR 16, 2026 – Koh Phangan, Thailand

Hello 2026 – and a happy NEW YEAR to you! We’ve been lazy with updating this website and our social media channels. Actually we were on holidays and still are. Taking a break from non stop exploring and recharging our batteries. This we do right now on the island Koh Phangan. Yes, we made it to Thailand, another crazy step further east (and south). How crazy it is it’s already 2026 and we are exactly 1.5 years on the road, can’t believe it – but to be honest it feels even longer to us. More updates very soon!

NOVEMBER 15, 2025 – Nong Khiaw, Laos

A few days in and we’re already in love with Laos. It feels completely different from anywhere we’ve been. Calm, green, and wildly beautiful. We’d been looking forward to this for so long, and it’s everything we hoped for. Nong Khiaw was our first stop, a small village in the north where we camped deep in the jungle, surrounded by nothing but nature. Pure, simple living. We also took a boat along the Nam Ou River to Muang Ngoy and hiked up through the jungle for a view over the valley. Laos, what a place!

NOVEMBER 11, 2025 – Boten Border, Laos

This is it – we’ve made it to Laos! After almost one and a half year on the road, we’ve officially crossed into Southeast Asia. What a wild, intense, and amazing ride is has been to get here. Now a new chapter starts. We’re beyond excited to explore Laos over the next month. Slow roads, jungle vibes and tropical heat. Let’s go!

OCTOBER 18, 2025 – Taklamakan Desert, China

We crossed through Taklamakan Desert. its name in Uygur means “if you go in, you won’t come out.” Luckily, we did. We did not expect this to be honest but we love this kind of landscapes. It took us two days to cross. Adventure China is officially on!

OCTOBER 13, 2025 – Khunjerab-Pass, China

Ni hao China! We crossed the Khunjerab Pass into China, one of the world’s highest international border at 4693m. It was one of the most time-consuming border process of our journey so far. More than 10 hours of waiting for documents and permits, unloading our car several times, and going through x-ray. What a wild experience. Another country, another adventure begins. We are super excited!

OCTOBER 4, 2025 – COLD DESERT, SKARDU

Since leaving Switzerland, we’ve driven through many countries and landscapes, each one stunning in it’s own. And yet, every time, we’ve been surprised again bay the raw, untouched beauty this world holds. The Sarfaranga Desert is one of those places that really amazed us. A cold desert, where vast sand dunes rise between snow-capped peaks. Sitting at over 2200 meters, it’s one of the highest deserts on Earth. What a place!
