Last weekend we spent two nights at Casa High Life in Mathon, a beautiful mountain escape tucked away in the Graubünden Alps. Surrounded by nature, thoughtful design and complete peace and quiet, exactly what we needed after a hard week of work.
Of course, we couldn’t stay in the mountains without going on a proper hike. We decided to tackle Piz Beverin (2998 m), one of Graubünden’s most iconic viewpoint mountains. Thanks to its location on the edge of the Adula Alps, the summit offers spectacular panoramic views in every direction. It definitely wasn’t the easiest hike we’ve done recently, but for sure worth it.
Instead of taking the usual route, we climbed up via the famous 8-metre ladder before continuing to the summit and returned via the Beverin Lücke. Along the way we spotted countless marmots and enjoyed endless mountain views.
If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway in the Swiss mountains, we can wholeheartedly recommend Casa High Life. Selina and Yannick are incredibly welcoming and have created such a special place where you can slow down. And we can’t finish this post without mentioning the breakfast. It was honestly sooo soooo good!
We’ll also be sharing a detailed blog post about both the hike to Piz Beverin and our stay at Casa High Life soon.
We highly recommend it, it’s a true gem: casahighlife.ch
