AN OFF-ROAD ADVENTURE AT IT’S BEST!
One of our favourite off-road tracks in Greece leads us up to Mount Lakmos. No clue how we ended up finding this track. But glad we did. We had our sights set on Verliga Alpine Lake and wanted to camp there at an altitude of 2050 meters. But things turned out differently and that’s when the real adventure began.
Let the adventure begin.
Our day started in Ioannina, aiming for Verliga Alpine Lake, about 62km away, up the slopes of Mount Lakmos. Sunshine, promising off-road track, what a day ahead. The plan was to make it all the way to the top, but the road seemed to have other plans in store for us …
OFF to the trail. But first: lower the tire pressure.
Look at her. Not much more to say. Just pure fun to drive.

Up we go.
Endless roads.
Guess that cow never saw a Landy, she run off.
Exciting trails, steep cliffs.
Almost at the top but than a broken road forced us to turn around. Half as bad, but a pity we couldn't go all the way up. A little detour with great views and even more exciting trails until we found a good spot to set up our camp.
No campfire unfortunately but millions of stars and moons above us at night. And the first time for weeks we could wear our hoodies! Chill evenings also have their magic and we really enjoyed the not sweating temperatures up the mountain.
I mean look at the surroundings. Pure joy.

Dinner and a hoodie: after weeks of melting in 40-degree heat, the fresh mountain air felt soooo good. Like really good. Like wearing a hoodie kinda goodッ We loved it – who knew we’d miss being cozy?
